Boatshop Camp - June 13-17

Availability: In stock (3)

Waterside Workshops’ Boatshop is offering its first woodworking and on-water paddling camp! We are excited to offer 11-14 year-old students a fun and engaging week long day camp in which we will spend half our time using hand tools to build a paddle and develop other woodworking skills. The remainder of our time will be spent on the water, paddling our outrigger canoes, row boats and kayaks at the Aquatic Park in Berkeley, the South Sailing Basin (next to the Cal Sailing in Berkeley), or at other destinations around the Bay. These outings will be weather dependent.

Our main goal is to enable young people to safely develop woodworking skills using hand tools and to gain confidence paddling on the water. At the Boatshop, our paddle making project is the initial project we start with all students so they can learn basic woodworking skills and have exposure to the hand tools we use in building boats in our shop. We run a program steeped in maritime history and tradition and believe it is equally important to be on the water as it is to be in the shop.

If your young person qualifies for free/reduced lunch, we are pleased to be able to offer full or partial scholarships for participants. If you are interested in a scholarship, please use one of the following discount codes at checkout:
